We picked some sweet corn for Monday lunch. Delicious! I will be bringing a small load of sweet corn to
Princeton Farmer’s Market Tuesday. Market opens at 8:30. I will also have blueberries, blackberries, red raspberries, cherry tomatoes, muskmelon, fresh garlic, green beans and other vegetables, and
Plow Creek Bakery goodies.
We have a nice crop of garlic this year, and it looks poised for harvest right around Wednesday the 4th. The garlic harvest is ideally a one-day project involving lots of people. Much of the work involves cutting and cleaning the garlic heads - a good social activity. Those who are interested in staying longer would be welcomed to harvest berries or weeds
Thursday morning marks our first supply of red raspberries to
Valley Flowers in
Spring Valley. We will have a moderate supply of them (probably enough to last a couple hours), along with an ample supply of blueberries. Bok Choy, peas, salad greens, herbs and maybe even some garlic will also be on display. Which month is it? We farmers feel like it must be at least midsummer.

The garlic plants are looking especially strong this year. In 2006, we saved most of the heads for seed and took very little to market.
Considering the sizable fall planting and the current vigor of this year’s plants, we expect to have plenty of garlic for sale at the
Market Barn and at each of our markets. Look for it beginning in July.
